Our facility is available to every qualified surgeon and offers them use of our state of the art equipment. Approved by the Health Science Authority of Singapore, we are able to perform blood transfusions. Our nurses are highly qualified with specialised Peri-Operative Nursing diplomas. Finally, we have accommodative Operating Theatre time, helpful for surgeons with busy schedules.
Reception
Our waiting area provides privacy and discretion for all our patients. A transfer zone separates the restricted theatre zone whereby patients who are ready for surgery will be escorted to the operating theatre suites. All patients and theatre staff are dressed in appropriate operating theatre attire and footwear.
Operating Theatres Suites
PSEC has three fully equipped operating theatres with general anaesthetic capabilities. It has a HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Air) filtered ventilation system that ensures a surgically clean environment. The air in the operating room is exchanged at regulated cycles providing fresh supply of clean air over the surgical site. Primary equipment in the operating room consists of an operating table, an anaesthetic machine, complete patient maintaining devices (ECG, BP, MAP, SaSO2, Pulse Rate), vacuum suction machines, an electrocautery machine and an X-ray viewing panel.
Minor Surgical Procedure Zone (MSP)
The Laser Rooms are equipped with multi-wavelength light, Intense Pulsed Light / CoolTouch and carbon dioxide lasers in addition to MicroDermabrasion systems used for aesthetic and therapeutic treatment. On top of that, we also have fully equipped endoscopy and local anaesthesia rooms.
Recovery Area
We have 6 patient recovery bays equipped with oxygen panels and monitoring equipment. All patients are continuously monitored by our attentive, caring nurses. Wheelchairs are available for those who are medically stable but not ambulatory.
Private Recovery RoomOur private recovery room allows patients respite in a comfortable and pleasant environment. There is cable television, beverages, a washing area, a couch for their visitors and finally nurses on standby.
Theatre Sterile Supply Unit (TSSU)
Sterilization and Infection Control is managed by the Theatre Sterile Supply Unit. Our highly trained technicians maintain exceptional safety standards to ensure quality care for our patients. Areas of expertise are organized by our:
Washing + Decontamination Room This room is equipped with two washing sinks, a flushing disinfector and a 2-door pass through washer cum disinfector. It allows safe and effective handling of biohazard waste products. Full vacuum sterilization is tested for fail-safe conditions ensuring complete decontamination. Surgical supplies are further tested against biological indicators after a 48-hour incubation period for complete sterility. Our autoclave technology passes regular testing by engineers from the Singapore Ministry of Manpower Occupational Safety Department.
Packing and Sterilisation Room
This room contain storage cabinets for clean surgical supplies , a sorting, inspection and packing bay as well as a heavy duty steam steriliser to cater for all procedures carried out in the ambulatory centre.
Sterile Supply Storage
All sterile instruments are stored in designated stainless steel trolleys.
